HUExArts is a collective of diverse, dynamic individuals invested in bringing forth the power of limitless creativity. The mission of HUExArts is to facilitate an effective partnership amongst art, education, and business sectors to engage youth, increase economic opportunities, and build sustainable communities globally.

HUExArts started during the summer of 2011 as a collective of artist-educators and visionaries in Oakland, CA. Frustrated with the current landscape of institutional collaborations with artists in their community, but inspired and motivated by the potential opportunities, the organization was conceived. HUExArts was founded on the belief that the sustainable employment of artists of all disciplines is an asset to every community, both culturally and economically. Furthermore, we believe providing accessible, culturally relevant education increases appreciation of global diversity and ignites investment in growth, collaboration, creativity, and self-esteem. By educating our youth more holistically and effectively, we are investing in a better future for all generations. We see the potential of encouraging imagination and innovation in partnership with teaching key life, business, and artistic skills. We envision an environment for creative leaders to emerge to solve the world’s problems through the expansion of economic opportunities and justice as critical to social change.
